Branches Never Remember

Ed Buckley The first track on this intriguing set of melancholic pieces is very much medieval in style. The rest are more difficult to classify, I think. While 1 or 2 are almost a madrigal and the instrumentation is mostly ancient, the way they're used is rather varied. The zither gives some pieces an oriental flavor, and the droning of the psaltery has an almost Santoor quality on others. The tracks with banjo have an Appalachia meets Kyoto feel to them. Give a listen. Favorite track: Dawn Of An August Morning.

Olga Kivius This is a beautiful melancholic well-done stylization of the mediaeval music with the additional neoclassical piano and ambient electronics. Frame drum played by the guest musician Wil Procter adds some epical notes.
It is amazing that the composer and multi-instrumentalist Adrian Lane, who uses unusual attention-getting age-old instruments in this recording, is an artist by his profession and this marvelous cover of the album is his painting. Very talented work. )) Favorite track: A Clear Stage And No Favour.

manuel jesus diaz Beautiful sounds like a magic rain of crystals over us, zithars evolving like angels pirouettes and subtile touches in keyboards...enough to get us out of all this everyday for a while...be happy one more time. Thanks Adrian. Favorite track: The Moon Is Up Yet It Is Not Night.
